At the end of the day Friday, we informed you that the president of the United States had directed Congress to look into helping Nigerian Christians:
What we didn't expect (you never know what you'll get at Not the Bee) was for rapper Nikki Minaj to respond with the most decisive and thoughtful message:
The internet was (pleasantly) confused!
In 2018, Babylon Bee founder Adam Ford started the Christian Daily Reader (CDR), which morphed into Disrn, which morphed into Not the Bee, which you are now reading.
It was through Adam that I learned about Samuel Sey, a Nigerian-Canadian Christian who blogs about theology, culture, and the church.
It would have taken an enormous amount of convincing to tell me that Samuel Sey would be presenting the Gospel to Nicki Minaj through her thoughtful response to Donald Trump (who is president again) about the plight of African Christians.
And yet here we are!
To be fair, Minaj went viral in 2021 for coming out against the Covid jab and sharing a Tucker Carlson post, so her deference for liberty, worship, and prayer isn't that much of a surprise.
I still can't believe she's a a playable character in Call of Duty though...
God truly moves in amazing but mysterious ways.
Humor is great, but if you want to get involved in protecting Nigerian believers from the jihadi horde, see these resources here, here, here, here, here, and here.
