The YouTube comments were savage.
Author and cultural commentator Walter Kirn had a succinct thought as well.
I'm not joking when I say the message of the film seems to be the direct opposite of what the author intended (literally an Orwellian rewriting of history):
What people can't figure out is why this is being produced by Angel Studios, a faith-based company that bills itself as the moral alternative to Big Hollywood.
Angel has gained significant market share thanks to Christian donors in recent years, with the explicit promise to tell faithful stories with biblical values instead of hijacking beloved stories for the purpose of woke, Marxist propaganda.
Maybe someone needs to get the suits at Angel a copy of Orwell's book!
