About 100 LA lefties descended on a Monrovia Home Depot to protest ICE, and they did it in just about the most asinine way you can imagine.
They all lined up to buy putty knives (not ice scrapers) for less than a dollar, lined up to return them, then got in the checkout line again.
The action, known as a buy-in, was part of a larger demonstration at the Home Depot to pressure the company to ‘scrape ICE out of their stores,' said Erika Andiola, political director for the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, which coordinated the event.
The LA Times reports that the protest is in response to the death of Carlos Roberto Montoya Valdez, an illegal alien whom ICE had tried to apprehend at Home Depot when he and several other illegals were trying to find work as day laborers.
Montoya Valdez fled and made his way onto the 210 Freeway, where he was struck and killed by oncoming traffic, though the Department of Homeland Security said that no one was pursuing him.

In addition to the putty knives, the protestors also blocked off the entrance to the Home Depot parking lot.
S.J. Denning volunteers with East Pasadena Community Defense Corner, a group that runs patrols for ICE activity in the area, and hoped that Saturday's demonstration would ‘create a little mischief' and increase awareness.
‘It's not OK to kidnap our neighbors off the streets,' said Denning. ‘This is a moral moment, and we should meet it with courage, all of us.'
Home Depot released a PLEASE STOP IT statement in response:
We are not coordinating with ICE or Border Patrol, and we're not involved in the operations. We aren't notified that immigration enforcement activities are going to happen, and often, we don't know operations have taken place until they're over.
We're required to follow all federal and local rules and regulations in every market where we operate.
