I am so glad that Katy had a chance to peek into God's vast Creation, but if you want a theological summary of everything wrong with America, this gets pretty darn close:
The glory of our Heavenly Father is revealed in the great expanse of space. Trillions of stars orbit around each other in hundreds of billions of galaxies. It is artistry and engineering that escapes our understanding - we can't even comprehend how little we comprehend!
And yet the God who fashioned it is far bigger.
Or has Katy Perry not heard:
The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the expanse proclaims the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour out speech;
night after night they communicate knowledge.
He makes the stars: the Bear, Orion,
the Pleiades, and the constellations of the southern sky.
All things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created.
The one who made the Pleiades and Orion,
who turns darkness into dawn
and darkens day into night,
who summons the water of the sea
and pours it out over the surface of the earth —
the Lord is his name.
Has Katy not heard these things?
Someone should tell her.
