You don't hate the media enough.
Last year, Raul Benitez Santana, a Mexican living in Washington state illegally, smashed into Officer Christoper Gadd going 100 miles an hour while drunk and high on marijuana. Gadd was obliterated in the accident.
Santana was brought to the U.S. illegally as a baby - you can argue all you want about whether or not he should still be here - but if his family, who all apparently live in Washington and should probably get a visit from ICE, hadn't illegally entered this country, Gadd would still be alive.
But the Seattle Times doesn't want you to know the unsavory detail that Santana should never have been within a thousand miles of Gadd.
[The judge] sentenced Benitez Santana to just under 10 ½ years in prison, the highest sentence she could impose under the state's standard sentencing guidelines; she also ordered him not to consume alcohol or drugs during the 18 months he'll be on community supervision after his release.
You might recall that the judge lowered bail by 90% last year because of course.
True justice would be a life sentence (minimum), preferably at Alligator Alcatraz or an El Salvadoran prison.
