There's nothing like getting a warm reception from your home crowd to lift your spirits. New York Governor Kathy Hochul wouldn't know, though, since she was just destroyed by a booing crowd at the opening of the 2025 Ryder Cup.
As reported by the New York Post:
Golf fans attending the opening ceremony ahead of the US's matchup against Europe unleashed on the Democratic leader as she walked on stage at the Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, according to social media footage.
'You're the worst,' one attendee shouted.
In true political fashion, Hochul's office ignored the ice-cold reception:
Hochul's office skirted around the unfriendly reception in a statement to The Post.
'Governor Hochul is proud to bring three elite golf tournaments to New York over the next decade,' a spokesperson said.
'The Governor remains committed to ensuring a world-class experience for the more than 250,000 spectators who will enjoy Bethpage State Park and all the region has to offer in the years ahead.'
The residents of New York sure sound grateful for your efforts, governor.
