President Trump posted this on Truth Social this morning:
A 100% tariff on foreign-made films!
So I guess you can kiss those subtitles goodbye and not waste another minute of your life starting a movie and then finding a new one a few minutes later after realizing you'd be reading the entire movie instead of just watching it.
Nobody knows how this tariff is going to work or when it will be implemented. Films are intellectual property and not goods, so it's anyone's guess as to how this will work. All we know is Trump posted about it this morning.
He had hinted at this back in spring:
And now Trump is going to Make Hollywood Great Again with a 100% tariff on foreign-produced movies.
As for me, I'll be leading a march down Sunset Boulevard this afternoon in protest of Spaghetti Westerns.
