I am thrilled to report to you that, yes, there are still good people in the world.
And these two young men are great examples of that.
That's some quick acting from these kids. They were resourceful enough to find a ladder, climbed onto the roof, put the kids back into the house for safety, all before police arrived.
Calvin held the ladder while Jabari scaled it and and reached the roof, though he said he has a fear of heights.
'I was really scared at first, but I just balled it (my fears) and threw it out the window so I can get this kid safe,' he told WDIV.
You know how many kids might have just walked by, not caring about the fate of those babies?
But this young dude got over his fear of heights and did what he had to do.
And that brings us to the sketchy situation inside the home...
Afterwards, the boys knocked on the door of the home, but no one answered.
Calvin said he and his brothers saw a man peek out of the window twice during the amazing rescue of the toddlers, but they were confused as to why the man didn't answer the door.
WDIV reported that Detroit police are calling the boys heroes. There's been no word yet whether child welfare officials are investigating the incident.
I would hope child welfare would be checking in on this house.
This near disaster was too close for comfort.
