Texas' redistricting map is finally here.
Final vote: 88-52.
This map will add five Republican-leaning seats to the U.S. House of Representatives.
It was a long fight, thanks to Texas Democrats who fled the state, leaving the House without quorum, but now it's over. The Dems came back, the House had a fair vote, and now the map will head to the Senate, where Republicans hold a 20-11 majority.
California has already begun work on its own redistricting map, and will likely go full-steam ahead in an effort to cancel out the five seats gained by the GOP in Texas.
