Being a substitute teacher has to be one of the most fun jobs out there. However, if you're going to post stuff like this on TikTok after your day, I think you don't deserve that job.
I'll give you the rest of that caption:
In one video, the camera lingered on a student wearing red Crocs and holding pom-poms as Borders commented, 'Yeah, they got it going on in this joint,' followed by another remark that drew heavy criticism online. After the posts went viral, DeSoto County Schools confirmed that Borders' employment had been terminated, citing the inappropriate nature of the videos.
If you're unfamiliar with the word shorty, it has come to mean "an attractive female." It once simply meant "young person," so let's HOPE that's what Ms. Borders meant here.
Regardless, the New York Post has more:
Miata Borders, 24, was canned by DeSoto County Schools days after she claimed she had a 'new hustle in life' as a substitute teacher at Lake Cormorant High School, according to WREG.
Borders, who boasted herself as a 'content creator,' documented her first day on the job as part of her "day in the life" TikTok video on Oct. 17.
...
Borders was employed by staffing company Kelly Services and will no longer be hired for positions within the school district.
'District officials informed Kelly Services today that the person is no longer allowed to be a substitute teacher for DeSoto County Schools,' the school district told the outlet on Tuesday.
Of course, Borders claimed to be a victim after the firing, saying, "It's honestly so sad how sick the world is that you guys automatically mischaracterize me fully without further context."
She also said she had no idea she wasn't supposed to record the students, and that she's "no predator."
