Andrew Wolfe of West Virginia is awake.
This comes from the West Virginia's governor's office, after mistakenly announcing the deaths of both guardsmen shortly after the shooting this past Wednesday.
From WCHS in Charleston, West Virginia:
Gov. Patrick Morrisey said during a news conference Monday they have received some good news in recent days as [Guardsman Andrew] Wolfe has indicated he can hear nurses by giving them a thumbs up and is able to wiggle his toes.
Fellow Guardsman Sarah Beckstrom died of her injuries on Thanksgiving, one day after being shot in the head and chest.
The suspect is an Afghan "ally" who served in a CIA-backed unit alongside U.S. troops. He was flown to America and given taxpayer housing by Biden in 2021.

The governor vowed to provide any kind of assistance possible to Wolfe's family, but said right now, all they're asking for is prayers.
'Andrew's family is going to get all the help we can give out of West Virginia,' Morrisey said. 'Right now, that's a lot of prayer.'
