How is society supposed to function with a justice system like this?

Ronald Exantus broke into a home ten years ago and began to attack the family unprovoked, killing their sweet six-year-old boy.

Exantus was not convicted of murder at the time, by reason of insanity. Now, a decade later, the court-certified insane killer is back on the street.

The interview with the victim's family is heartbreaking.

Mr. Tipton: I've had my talks with God, cause - I'm not afraid to tell you all, I told the court - If I ever cross paths with him, I'll kill the man. I will kill him where he stands.

The court system is supposed to secure justice for victims.

The courts completely messed this one up.

Local Lexington news has more details on this case:

'He didn't just kill my son. He killed every member of my family, every single one of us, and every person that's sitting here today is a completely different person than they were when they went to bed December 6,' Heather Tipton said.

Dakota described the horrific experience. She said that Exantus stabbed her in the back, and then stomped on her head.

'And I remember waking up across the room, not where I was at, and I looked and he was killing Logan and Logan was screaming,' Dakota said.

This is absolutely, unimaginably evil.

Exantus belongs under the jail for his crimes.

Is this justice system just?
