Note: This article has been updated to reflect that the murder suspect's family has reportedly been leasing the $900,000 home since 2022 and has not yet accessed any of the crowdfunded support.
These days in America, I guess it pays to be the kid who allegedly stabbed another kid to death at a Texas track meet.
Some details in the NY Post story are being debated. The family reportedly bought a white Cadillac several years ago (a very expensive SUV), and had recently bought another car, but there's no word that they used any crowdfunded support to purchase it.
If you're just coming into this story, Karmelo allegedly stabbed Austin Metcalf in the chest back on April 2 at a track meet. The murder suspect's GiveSendGo page has now raised almost $450,000, while the the GoFundMe page set up for Austin's family has only raised $370,000.
Anthony had his bond reduced from $1 million to $250,000 and got himself out of jail. Part of the plea for reduced bond involved the financial difficulty of such a high dollar amount (remember, this kid is charged with FIRST-DEGREE MURDER).
As it turns out, his family has apparently lived in the pricey Richwoods gated community in Frisco, Texas, since 2022 (so oppressed!).
They plan to use the funds raised for their son to "relocate."

The home — where rent is estimated to be $3,500 a month — had a white Suburban, a black Acura, and a third sedan in the driveway on Tuesday, according to the outlet.
Again, so oppressed! Just a poor black kid who didn't do nuffin' being discriminated against by our systemically racist justice system.
