I'm not sure this Babylon Bee article is satire anymore:

In-N-Out has become almost synonymous with California. It's been headquartered there almost 8 decades, and the vast majority of the burger chain's stores are located in the Golden State.

But times are changing, and after some public conflict with Governor Gavin Newsom, the company announced earlier this year that it is moving its headquarters to Tennessee, despite not having a single location east of Texas.

In-N-Out heiress Lynsi Snyder talked to conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey this week about what the move means for her family:

There's a lot of great things about California, but raising a family is not easy here. Doing business is not easy here. We're building an office in Franklin, so I'm actually moving out there.

Snyder revealed that she's declined offers to move the company to other states, saying they are being very selective about their expansion, but the first Tennessee store is expected to open by the end of next year.

She went on to say,

We're able to reach Tennessee from our Texas warehouse. So we're not putting our meat facility, where we do all of our beef and send it to our stores [to] make patties, we're not going to have that there. We'll have a warehouse, but not do our own meat there, so we'll be able to deliver from Texas. So Texas can reach some other states.

She didn't say which "other states" are next on the list for expansion, but if you know your geography, you could make an educated guess on which states that Texas warehouse would be able to reach.

(Sorry, Florida, but I don't think you've made the cut.)

The company has plans to slowly transition away from their headquarters in Irvine, California, relocating corporate employees to either their Baldwin Park office or the new headquarters in Tennessee.

Snyder told Stuckey,

It will be wonderful having an office out there, growing out there and being able to have the family and other people's families out there.

I doubt In-N-Out will be redecorating their cups with pine trees anytime soon, but I think the burger heiress will find the South to be the perfect spot to raise a family ... and a multi-billion-dollar company.
