Am I wrong or has Politico decided to go full propaganda this election cycle?
This is how their "experts" explained the frightened and confused eye-popping of Tim Walz after the debate.
You know how he looked like a literal deer in the headlights?
Well, that was REALLY showing his "passion."
When Walz felt especially passionate about something, he'd open his eyes wide as saucers. Eye-popping can sometimes be a sign of surprise, but for Walz, it simply revealed his emotional intensity โ like this moment during an exchange about abortion.
They are literally talking about THIS moment:
The orbicularis oculi muscle, working in concert with the corrugator and frontalis muscles, contract to raise the eyebrows โ a dynamic and emphatic facial motion that grabbed the viewer's attention. Early humans would have made such facial gestures to communicate strong emotions, like 'danger is close.' For Walz, it gave extra weight to his feelings and held our gaze.
Oh my gosh. Could they BE more, more ... well, there's a plethora of words for this behavior. None of which can I use on this site.
The eyes of INTENSITY!
They only communicate that he is a very serious candidate! Nothing else!
But wait, there's more!
...we demonstrate negative sentiments by furrowing the glabella โ the space between the eyebrows ... this was a way for Walz to silently say, 'No way, that's not right, and I am going to challenge you on this.'
Wait until you hear about Vance's beard being sexist!
I'll leave ya with this:
